Jim Rutledge

Bourbon legend and Hall of Famer, Jim Rutledge is the former Master Distiller of Four Roses Bourbon. Jim is universally credited with rebuilding a brand that had lost its way, into the highly respected industry star it is today. When Jim took over as Master Distiller at Four Roses in 1994, the Kentucky-made bourbon was no longer sold in the U.S. Over the next few years, Jim reinvented the operation and developed the sweet and spicy product that the brand is now known for. Jim started his career with Seagrams in 1966 before moving to Four Roses 26 years later. Jim retired from Four Roses in 2015 and started a new career as a consultant, sharing his years of industry experience with other distillers. Jim is also curating his own high-end bourbon brand, Cream of Kentucky. It’s a revival of an old industry name that Jim is once again returning to prominence.
